This study covered 13 counties in southern Arkansas, south of Township 11 South. Electric logs from 3,903 wells in this region were used to identify the stratigraphic top of the Smackover Formation. Smackover core samples and cuttings, well completion reports, and driller’s logs of certain wells were also examined to verify the formation tops from the well logs.
