This guidebook presents descriptions of four mines and quarries in central Arkansas, including the 3M Company's Big Rock quarry in Pulaski County (syenite), ALCOA's bauxite strip mines in Saline County (now inactive), Baroid Division of National Lead Company's (now NL Baroid) strip and underground mine in Hot Spring County (now abandoned), and Union Carbide Corporation's Wilson Springs vanadium deposits at Potash Sulphur Springs in Garland County (now inactive).
